A big thank you to Donna Klein and Dan Biezad for their recent library contributions. They attended the NAMI CA Conference in August and returned with a fantastic assortment of titles.
- Fast Girl, A Life Spent Running from Madness, signed by author and three-time Olympian Suzy Favor Hamilton.
- Mindfulness for Borderline Personality Disorder, by Blaise Aguirre & Galen Gillian, offers information about Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy skills to soothe the symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder.
- The Power of Validation, by Karyn D. Hall & Melissa H. Cook, is about arming your child against bullying, peer pressure, addiction, self-harm and out of control emotions.
- An excellent DVD, From Chaos to Freedom, Practicing Reality Acceptance, has been added to the collection. It is a helpful exercise led by Marsha M. Linehan, Ph.D.
Several audio CDs from the conference are available, as well. Workshop topics include but are not limited to: The Five Pillars of an Effective Law Enforcement Mental Health Strategy; Repeal of the Affordable Care Act; Preventing Crisis, Incarceration and Recidivism; Family-to-Family Class Update, Policing Individuals with Mental Health Conditions: Past, Present & Future.
