Ending the Silence

It's okay to talk about it.

NAMI Ending the Silence (ETS) is a 50-minute interactive presentation that helps teens learn about the warning signs of mental health conditions and what steps they should take to find support for themselves or their friends. To learn more about how you can bring NAMI Ending the Silence to your community, visit www.nami.org/ets.

Through this free, 50-minute classroom presentation, students get to see the reality of living with a mental health condition as they hear the stories of a young adult living with mental illness and a family member of someone with a mental illness.  NAMI Ending the Silence teaches them about the warning signs for themselves and their friends, raising awareness and changing perceptions around mental health conditions.

NAMI Ending the Silence covers:

  • Early warning signs

  • Facts and statistics about youth and mental health conditions

  • When, where and how to get help for themselves or their friends

  • When it’s not okay to keep a secret

Visit the NAMI National Website for more detailed information about the program.
