President's Pen April 2019

Dear NAMI SLOCO Members, 

We are in “Countdown Mode” for our Beautiful Minds Rally and Walkathon on Saturday, May 4th, at Meadow Park in San Luis Obispo. Registration on the day of the event begins at 8:30 AM and our speakers and entertainment will begin at 9:00 AM. It is promising to be a wonderful event. Thanks to Donna Klein, our Silent Auction will be filled with exciting items certain to please everyone, so bring your checkbooks! In addition to our speakers of the day, Buddy from B&B Music will be our DJ and will keep us entertained along with Take It SLO CAL POLY Acapella Singers. You will find helpful information from enthusiastic participants at our Resource Fair. Lace up your tennies for a mile long walk, suitable for all fitness levels.

Our Beautiful Minds Rally and Walkathon is NAMI SLOCO's only fundraiser. We receive no government funding and we rely completely on donations and membership dues to be able to provide NAMI programs in our community. We need your help to make this fundraiser a success each year!

Here are three ways you can help right now, and on the day of the walk: 

1) Put a team together (family, friends, co-workers) and visit www.namislo.orgto register for the Beautiful Minds Rally and Walkathon. Find donors to sponsor your walk and bring these funds with you on the day of the walk. 

2) Contribute to our GoFundMe campaign, which will be running from now, all the way through the end of May, Mental Health Month, and share the campaign with your friends!

3) On the day of the walk, we could use some hands to help with setup in the morning. Contact me, Pam, at 805-543-1825 if you can help.
